Spektrum has announced a new radio. The DX18 is the most advanced radio Spektrum has yet fielded. It has 18 channels, 50 model memory, the Spektrum Data Interface, and a new device (sold seperately) called X-Plus - an expansion module allowing a user to add up to eight additional channels. Complex aircraft with multiple servos and mixing requirements will love that feature.

And the pricing on this bad boy? Only $799.99 - though, according to Spektrum's website, that is subject to change. For more information about the DX18, check out Spektrum's overview page.
Axial appears to have a new crawler on the way. Well, kind of.

The new Ridgecrest crawler is a new version of the AX10 model. Other than that small detail, not much is known about this new cralwer. According to Axial's Ridgecrest AX10 page, it's due out in spring 2012.
UPDATE: Horizon Hobby has now told me that backorders of the Scout's upper blades are starting to ship. Recognizing how bad the situation was, Horizon decided that, instead of using the standard shipping method (literally by ship across the ocean), they needed to air freight them over from China.

This decision was an expensive one to make, but better to lose some margin on the blades than lose sales.
This is how it should be. A product is announced, and three weeks later, it comes out. The newest addition to the Blade family is now in stock. As such, it isn't for beginners, but intermediate level pilots will fall in love with the responsive controls.
Yesterday, a fire destroyed a large part of Woodland Scenics. It took over 100 firefighters and a dozen fire departments to battle the blaze. There is no word yet as to the cause of said fire, but it reduced to ashes about one-third of the company's Linn Creek complex. Woodland Scenics is the largest employer in the small town of only 280 residents, employing around 150 of them.
